So a few of you have requested me to talk about insulin, and the questions are what type of insulin, how much and how much carbs and what type of carbs to take with insulin first, the disclaimers insulin is, uh, sometimes a prescription medication, sometimes an over the counter medication a regardless of which it is to you and your location. You shouldn't take it unless the doctor recommends you take it, and you should take it according to your doctor's recommendation, but for informational purposes only, i'm going to explain how insulin is used in bodybuilding to pack on huge amounts of muscle and, uh, and how, if used incorrectly, it will pack on huge amounts of fat. So insulin is the most anabolic hormone in the body. It is capable of building muscle quickly, it is capable of storing fat quickly. It is the reason why high carbohydrate diets cause people to become fat and low carbohydrate diets are usually much better for losing fat is because carbohydrates stimulate the body's natural production of our dispersement of insulin into the bloodstream. Now, in order to get the muscle building a facts of insulin we've got to take a super physiological amount of insulin, and there are different types of insulin that last different amounts of time in the body. My preference of insulin is human log human log lasts, they say four hours, but from what it feels like to me, i'd say it last between three and five and it's usually closer to the three hour time it does peak first in fifteen minutes after taking it. And this is where people run into trouble if you do not take in enough carbohydrates with insulin that you go into a diabetic shock and you die and i've actually had a friend die who is a diabetic from diabetic shock, not bodybuilding related, just because his own insulin administration for non bodybuilding purposes was off. And i've also had multiple bodybuilding friends who have come close to dying as well, using insulin. So it is pa probably the most dangerous drug in bodybuilding used correctly. It's, not dangerous, and i don't think there's any negative health side effects of using a moderate amount, you know, in a smart manner with the correct amount of carbohydrates and all timed perfectly so my personal preference is to use human. Log. I've tried five by you all the way up, tio i've seen i've seen actually with my own eyes. Bodybuilders do fifty i use which is half of a mil eater. Usually depending on the concentration of the insulin, there can be different concentration insulin. But from what i've seen, usually the i use always mean the same thing. And they do that on purpose. Because the syringes match up the amount of i use on the syringe match up to the concentration. So one hundred i use is one mil leader. One millimeter syringe. So i take five u, which is, you know, very, very small amount on the needle. So it's not fifty it's. Not half of eh, mill leader, half of assisi. It is one twentieth of a cc. Very small amount. That's. Probably the minimum effective dosage from over thing i've heard, uh, the most that someone would want to take it one time. Generally, as a bodybuilder is generally around ten. You ? Like i said, i have seen bodybuilders take up to fifty at you. I just think that's excessive and i think it's unnecessary in my opinion. Honestly, unless your insulin receptors are so downgraded and desensitized that's all the way you can get him to respond. But in that case, in my opinion, a break from taking insulin might be better or taking things that help re sensitize the insulin receptors. And i will cover that in another video how to re sensitize the insulin receptors and how to use my medics too. Act like insulin without actually using insulin. All right, so for dosages, though there's a couple different protocols, one is you can take five i you to ten i you pre workout or you can take it post workout, or you could take it in the morning and then pre workout and then post workout you khun take fifty five i you each time for a total of fifteen i you so i've i've experienced are watched bodybuilders experience each of these protocols and it's really a matter of preference. Uh, i experimented myself with taking insulin before work out and after a workout, and some of the benefits of taking insulin before a workout are that it does give you a better pump. It does put the nutrients into the muscle, prevent the muscle from even breaking down. At all. It's, basically, your body is repairing the muscle while you're working out your actually building muscle while you work out it's not just like tearing down the muscle to beat to be built later. It's an instant for gratification. Instant progress. The hard part, though, is if you work out really hard, it can be difficult to balance your blood sugar. So during your workout, you're gonna burn a certain amount of carbohydrates, and you also need to keep a certain level of carbohydrates in the bloodstream in order to keep you from not passing out, getting dizzy, by the way. This the way you can tell that your blood sugar is dropping to low on insulin is used, you could start sweating, shaking, become disoriented, dizzy, weak. Oh, and then eventually collapse and pass out and go into a coma. So, you know, and sometimes there isn't a lot of time between all of those things happening that's why keeping the dosage low ? Keeping carbohydrates on hand is good now there's a couple of different recommendations on the amount of carbohydrates to take with it. Usually, they say between six to ten grams of carbohydrates, per i you so for ten i you, that means between sixty and one hundred grams of carbohydrates. In my experience. Usually the lower amount sixty grams with ten i you is is usually enough. And then you gotta follow it up with carbohydrates because the insulin does last through three hours three or more, so you have to keep eating carbohydrates faras what type of carbohydrates to take with insulin, they say it's. Good to take a blend of simple sugars and as well as complex carbohydrates. That way you get the spike in the beginning so your blood sugar doesn't crash at the fifteen a minute mark after taking it. Because that's, when the first peak of the insulin is, and then the complex carbohydrate, keep your blood sugar stable for the rest of that time period. My preference actually, as i prefer to stick mostly with a simple sugars, so like a size on or glycogen act. Our intra workout drinks. If i take the insulin pre workout, i prefer tto be drinking, sipping on those which i think gives the same benefit of taking simple and complex because if you sip on it, it's it's, kind of like mita wring the blood the glucose into your bloodstream. Some people use long acting insulin, you know, last potential even up to all day. I don't think that that's as anabolic that doesn't give super physiological amounts of insulin that causes major muscle growth last year, eating a massive amount of carbohydrates and you're taking a large dose of it. But the problem to me is if you're going to keep your insulin levels high all day long, then you're going to be vulnerable to your blood sugar dropping to low all day long. So if you take insulin and you're not on anabolic ce like steroids, testosterone or sar mes and you're not on growth foreman, then your body's gonna store a lot more fat, then muscle. So the reason why it works so well for body builders is because the insulin is synergistic with the anabolic ce it is synergistic with growth hormone growth hormone, for example, minimizes the fact game while on insulin. So if you take in case six seven seven, the aural growth hormone secreted god boots for men. That's what the one i take is enhanced athlete dot com or you inject a peptide. Growth hormone like c j c, or if moreland or g h r p already take pharmaceutical grade growth hormone pre workout, then your body is going to be into a growth mode instead of a storage modes you combine putting your body into a growth more with the growth hormone with the insulin that helps pull all the nutrients into the muscle and you've got the perfect anabolic environment. See if you just have the insulin, then you're putting your body in storage mode without putting your body and growth mode. And so that's. Why you store a lot more calories as fat. So yesterday i think i found my favorite timing for insulin and my favorite dose for insulin. Yesterday i took the insulin intra workout, i did a leg day and i did dead lifts and squat. So my really heavy sets first in the work out that took about thirty minutes after that that i took ten i knew of insulin with two rice cakes and about forty grams of carbohydrates and sugar drink, and i just kept sipping and snacking on those over about a fifteen minute period. I drank it all. I didn't have. Any blood sugar crash or any side effects of the insulin during my high rap sets. But i've taken insulin during my heavyweight set, so when i'm doing the dead lifts and the squats and it drops my blood sugar to blow, no matter how much sugar i drink, if i do super duper heavyset, it feels dangerous. So i like to take the insulin after those sets. Or i could take the insulin on workout days where i'm not doing extremely heavy compound exercises personally. Then you add an anabolic ce likes arms, testosterone, steroids, and then you've got the perfect anabolic environment with growth hormone and the insulin, because the anabolic ce increase protein synthesis, and now you can have more protein and assimilate more protein into the muscle and build more muscle. And you can use the growth hormone to prevent the fat game and to build new muscle cells. Why use an insulin to force all the nutrients into the muscle ? It's a perfect combination.
